I'm sure your first question about Orange Oil is, do we use it? To answer briefly, No. I bet your next question is, Why? I've put together some helpful information that will help explain why we didn't jump on the band wagon with the hype of this new chemical.
First, and the main reason, it is not effective. It has to come in direct contact with the termite to work properly, which, unless you have xray vision, is impossible to spray every termite with it. For this reason, it will only work on drywood termite, since subterranean termites live in the ground. We have been using Termidor to do our local treatments for years and have gotten great results with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it. It is a liquid bait system, termites can not see, smell, or taste it. They come in contact with it, ingest it and share it with others. It works on both Drywood and Subterranean termites. For more information on this product, vist our links page for the link to Termidor's website.
Second, we do treatment in southern california where it can get pretty hot during the summer, especially in an attic, etc. Orange oil is flammable at 115 degrees, see the link below.
